Manaiakalani film festival

On Wednesday 13th November first we went under the canopy and we sat down in our houses and we hooked up our partner and we went inside the bus. We left and we went to the movies... 

there were so many schools and movies, we saw 23 films from St Patricks, Panmure Bridge, Tamaki Collage and Point England school

We all laughed and laughed and the movies were fun and everyone was so happy and they sat in some really nice chairs.

Afterwards we left, and we went in the bus and we were all happy. We loved all the movies my favourite movie was how to make a jam sandwich.

Mrs Collins told us today that she heard
that the bird of the year in 2019 was the Hoiho.
The Hoiho is a penguin. They have yellow eyes. The Hoiho is the first seabird to win. There are only 225 pairs. There is a hoiho on our 5 dollar note.

This is Alyssa Valdez - she  also won in Volleyball. She is the best in Philippines. She 26 years old.
My sister is happy that Alyssa is the winner of the Philippines.
We also like to watch her win. Yay!

planting our vegetable garden

On the 18th of October after lunch room 6 went down to plant. Why do we need to plant vegetables?  Because it is healthy and fresh for us to eat.  

We walked slowly and no screaming because room 7 and 8 were working. We dig with the big fork
and some people were picking up the earthworm and I got scared of the earthworms. 
My plant was silverbeet and I dug a small hole to put it in. And I saw a spider holding the egg sac.

Nicky's visit.
 We learned about money and they help your dreams to come true. 
Nicky said we must save our money in the bank because it is safe.

Sonasi got a car and Nino and Sililo also got a car because they saved their money.
My dream is one day I want to be a singer and go to university and I will have to have money and I will put my money in the bank. We have to work hard.

I made a tukutuku pattern by weaving red and black colored paper on a loom.

First I cut the lines on the loom. Then I got a strip of black paper and I weaved under,and over on my loom.

Next I weaved the red strip I put it under the black strip. Then I weaved the  two strips the opposite way to make a pattern.

And I glue it  in the end  and cut the long pieces off. My tukutuku pattern is  done.

WALT:to show smart Relationship qualities

Today Mrs Collins said we had to make a tower 
that was the biggest in the class and first we had to write a plan and after morning tea we had to make the tower.    
In 10 minutes Leonie and I tried to make our tower with 12 spaghetti sticks and 8 marshmallow pillows and it was so cool
After our tower Mrs Collins took a photo and ours was 20cm tall. It was so cool! I felt happy and we can work nicely together.

My first time in Wellington -by Erich

In Wellington we checked in to the hotel and it was so amazing. We ate  outside   in a restaurant and I bought popcorn and chips and it was so yummy.  Then we went to our hotel and I slept so early.
In the Morning we went to report a passport and we went to the Te Papa Museum and I saw lots of things and I bought cakes to  for my sister.



For my sisters birthday we went to the Filipino restaurant.  I ordered food for her and we got smoothies and I got mango,strawberry,yogurt,and milk. After that we ordered rice,soup and nuggets. It was so delicious!!!!!

A few week ago Miss Collins  told us to make  my digital footprint.  I put paper and draw my feet and put the words and we colored the words and   I have 64% and it is so good for me and I put the title and this  is awesome.

Catholic School day-byErich

On Tuesday we celebrated the Catholic Schools' Day at St Patrick's School. There were many people here, children, teachers and parents. We went to church and we all sang together beautifully.

After Mass we have lunch time and it was raining. St Pius X and St Ignatius children ate under the canopy but we ate in the classroom because we were cold. Later we all played in the big playground. We had no sport today and the schools went back early. We just stayed in class and did fun activities.

We had a good day!!! Happy Catholic day!!!!

Learning Intention: we are learning about we have been learning about how Jesus respected the tapu of people. 
Jesus showed us how to love other people who are sick or different to us. Jesus asked the Samaritan woman to get him some water at the well and he did. He was allowed to speak to her.
Another story was when Jesus touched the leper who had big sores on him. He made him better. 
He showed aroha which is love and also tika which is to do the right thing and pono which is to tell the truth.
I am like Jesus when I show aroha towards the little children at school. They like me because I am kind.
I know how to show tika because I understand what I must do. With pono I always tell the truth and don't tell lies to my parents.

yesterday we learned about kindness and we watch an oat the goat.  we drew a portrait on the paper
we gave it to other people. Then we crunched the paper and we wrote about kindness.
I put a heart with the kindness.   then i put a old man and lady.

Saint Patrick's Day

On Saint Patrick's Day we all went to Mass and sang many songs. After church we had morning tea and we sat in the under the canopy.

The principal called out the teams and we lined up. My team went to Mr Bell first and his game was "Capture the Flag." Then we went around to the other teachers for different games.

After sport we all won and we ate ice blocks and in the afternoon we did St Patrick activities in our classroom. We watched a movie about his life. We also got a balloon to decorate.

Kamusta! My name is Erich and I go to Saint Patrick’s School. I come from the Philippines and in my family there are  my Mum, Dad and big sister and My grandma and grandpa. A lot of family to have fun with. I am good at Writing and R.E and I enjoy games with my friends.  My challenge is Maths. My goal is to be better at reading. My cousin inspires me to be a good learner; she says she is proud of me!  People should read my blog because I hope to write interesting things.
